The Program was offered jointly by the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine Wildlife Health Center, Florida Atlantic University Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, Sokoine University of Agriculture (Morogoro, Tanzania), Tanzania National Parks Veterinary Units, Arusha, Tanzania , Wildlife Conservation Society, and Ruaha Landscape Program, (Iringa) Tanzania. (2) Use of Biomarkers in Monitoring Aquatic Pollution and Fish Diseases (visiting scientist at the US Environmental Protection Agency Laboratory in Duluth, Minnesota) 2011 We are studying the effects of endocrine-active chemicals on the physiology of model fish species using modern technology and techniques (transcriptomics, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, etc.). This helps to support an ecosystem-based approach to sustainable aquaculture production, prevention and control of fish diseases and food safety which is part of the goal of World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), in ensuring wholesome and safe products for human consumption. (3) Courtesy Faculty Member, Department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology. Oregon State University Corvallis, Oregon USA.
