Two PhD student positions - Fisheries population dynamics and management

Two Graduate Research/Teaching Assistantships are available in population dynamics, bycatch, and fisheries management. The candidates will work with scientists from Virginia Tech and collaborative institutes and industries to conduct population dynamics or bycatch models and management strategy evaluation focusing on spatial and spatial-temporal dynamics. Applicants must have an M.S. in fisheries, natural resources, Biology, Ecology, Statistics, or similar areas with a quantitative background for entrance into the program. Duties will include communicating with collaborators, conducting a management strategy survey and a simulation, and preparing reports, presentations, and publications for scientific audiences.  
 

Requirements

Stipend:  $31,500-$33,000 per year, plus tuition ($15,000-$16,000) and student health benefits. Position is supported by GRA/GTA.
