Growout ponds mean values for Cd were 0.22, 0.20 and 0.10 ppm for sites I, II and III, while the mean values in their water supplies were 0.45, 0.17 and 0.08 ppm. Cu showed the same trend oas Cd in the growout ponds. The mean values of Cu were 0.22, 0.17 and 0.14 ppm in the ponds and 0.08, 0.13 and 0.11 ppm in the water supplies at sites I, II and III, respectively. T mean values of Zn were also higher in the growout ponds with levels of 0.51, 0.40 and 0.32 ppm compared with levels of 0.35, 0.33 and 0.30 ppm in the water supplies of sites I, II and III, respectively. Finally, Pb levels were higher in the growout ponds at 2.04, 1.79 and 1.53 ppm than in their water supplies where the values were 1.53, 1.43 and 1.02 ppm at sites I, II and III, respectively.
