Back Cover More than once, I’ve found solutions to problems that I’ve faced in my own research at the meeting trade show. There’s a wealth of knowledge at the trade show and I urge you to take advantage of this opportunity. Finally and critically, the meetings are fun! We always plan a variety of social events and that’s true again this year. Embrace those opportunities and don’t be shy! Our other members want to meet you and make you feel welcome. There are also several opportunities specifically for students (many planned by the Board’s student activities committee, led by Dr. Mick Walsh, and the student liaison, Laura King), including tours, social events and more. New Orleans is a great city and you’ll find that there’s plenty to do. So, again, as President of the US Aquaculture Society, I hope to see all of you at the upcoming Aquaculture America meeting. If you’re a student, please come and please say hello. And don’t forget that the abstract submission deadline to be eligible for student awards is September 27 (with the deadline for other abstracts of December 1). We want you to attend and be a part of the meeting and be eligible for the many student awards that we provide. You can find more information about the meeting and register here: www.was.org/meeting/code/AA2023. — Bill Walton, President
