Dr. Carole Engle is a nationally recognized and highly-respected aquaculture economist. She served as a Professor of Aquaculture Economics and Marketing at the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff (UAPB) and created and directed the UAPB Aquaculture/Fisheries Center and the associated academic department. She has more than 40 years of experience in the analysis of economics and marketing issues related to aquaculture and has worked in 20 different countries in all major world regions. Dr. Engle has produced numerous economic and market analysis oriented peer-reviewed, extension and grey literature papers, book chapters and books to the benefit of commercial fish and shellfish farmers, prospective farmers, government agencies, and the public. She also has shared her expertise, research, and experience in a wide variety of capacities as an officer or member of several professional associations, as editor of major aquaculture journals, and as chair or member of numerous public and private advisory groups. Retired from the university, Dr. Engle continues to work with aquaculture producers and colleagues on a variety of issues through her consulting company, Engle-Stone Aquatic$ LLC and as an adjunct faculty member at the Virginia Seafood Agricultural Research and Extension Center of Virginia Tech University.
