The present study investigated the development, growth rate and RNA/DNA ratio of larva resulted from breeding of tiger prawn broodstock from two locations.

Broodstock from Pangkep and Siwa regions were used in this study.  Six pairs of broodstock from the same location with female and male interchanged and six pairs of broodstock from the two locations with female and male interchanged were breeded. The quality of the broodstock were assessed from fecundity, spawning latency period, fertilization rate, egg diameter, hatching rate, and the larvae were assesed from their development, growth and survival rate.

Research shows that (1) the best potential reproduction for aspects like fecundity, fertilization, survival rate is breeding between female from Siwa and Male from Pangkep.  (2) the growth of larvae is the best from paired broodstock from Siwa.
