Develop and adapt protocols for analyzing aquatic biodiversity using eDNA, in conjunction with partners in the South, to strengthen scientific cooperation and local capacities. Under the responsibility of Marc Pouilly (UMR BOREA, IRD) and Nicolas Rabet (UMR BOREA, Sorbonne University), in collaboration with Dr. Mattia Sacco (BOREA) and Dr. Jérôme Murienne (UMR CRBE, University of Montpellier), your main activities will be as follows: Development and adaptation of eDNA protocols for the characterization of aquatic biodiversity in tropical freshwater ecosystems. Contribution to the enrichment of regional molecular libraries (fish, microcrustaceans) through the collection, identification and sequencing of specimens. Valorization of museum collections through integrative taxonomy approaches including the genetic dimension. Implementation of biodiversity monitoring in the Gran Chaco (Bolivia, Argentina) via eDNA and construction of ecosystem indicators (drying, fish migration). Training of local partners (South) in the use of ADNe tools (e.g. MinION) via accessible and contextualized protocols. Secondary Activities Participation in the technical coordination of the activities of the FEF Pilcomayo project and in the writing of scientific reports or publications. Organization and implementation of long-term field missions in South America (approx. 1/year).Requirements

Knowledge of tropical aquatic ecosystems and associated biodiversity issues. Practice of field missions in constrained contexts (tropical environments, international cooperation). Skills in taxonomy or in the promotion of biological collections. Ability to supervise or train non-specialist partners on technical tools (protocol, MinION platform, etc.). You Demonstrate the Following Human Qualities Autonomy and ability to lead a research project in conjunction with international partners. Taste for teamwork, in an intercultural and interdisciplinary context. Strong adaptability in field missions and in heterogeneous scientific environments. Scientific rigor and organizational skills.
