Work environment and context
• Location: Saint-Nazaire
The job is located at AlgoSolis UAR CNRS 3722 (Gavy site) in Saint-Nazaire. AlgoSolis, a research and innovation platform, is administratively managed by the IUT of Saint-Nazaire, in close interaction with the GEPEA Laboratory (UMR CNRS 6144) and the Polytech Nantes engineering school.
AlgoSolis' missions are structured around the following objectives:
• Research and innovation on the obstacles to scaling up microalgae exploitation
• Support for the development of the microalgae sector
• International influence and territorial attractiveness
The recruited person will be assigned to "Technical Support" under the responsibility of the platform's operations director.
Missions
- Within the AlgoSolis team, a research and innovation platform entirely dedicated to the production and valorization of microalgae, the mission of the person recruited will be essentially focused on the production of microalgae at all scales, from the laboratory to the pre-industrial.
- The candidate will also be required, almost daily, to maintain and clean the photobioreactors and raceways, carry out basic physicochemical or biochemical analyses, contribute to the general smooth operation of the platform, and write simple experimental reports for their N+1.
Main activities
- Main activity: microalgae production (all scales)
- Other daily activities:
o Apply operating protocols
o Prepare, operate and clean photobioreactors and raceways
o Perform basic physicochemical or biochemical analyses
o Write experimental reports
o Participate in the general maintenance procedures of the platform, including cleaning and keeping the experimental spaces tidy
o Participate in the implementation of a quality approach

Requirements

Education and/or qualification: BTS or DUT/BUT in the field of microalgae, aquaculture, marine biotechnology, water treatment. -
Prior experience is welcome for this position: we are open to recruiting both entry-level and experienced candidates. Previous experience in the field of microalgae (including spirulina) would be a significant advantage.
