Shrimp hatchery supervisor

Job Details

We are looking for an experienced Supervisor to join our Hatchery Operations team. Reporting to the Manager, the Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production activities, managing a team of Aquaculture Specialists, Assistant Aqua Specialists, and General Workers, and ensuring operational excellence in accordance with company standards and biosecurity procedures. This role involves 75% field supervision and 25% administrative work. Key Responsibilities Execute day-to-day nauplii production activities as per the plan and targets assigned by the Unit Manager. Ensure strict compliance with SOPs, biosecurity, and animal health protocols. Supervise activities such as broodstock receipt, maturation and spawning tank preparation, feeding, and water management. Oversee egg and nauplii harvesting, treatment, counting, and delivery to LRU or for sales. Monitor and maintain optimal water quality parameters (temperature, salinity, etc.) and coordinate timely sample submissions for lab analysis. Coordinate with the Hatchery Coordinator for material planning and withdrawals from the warehouse. Maintain accurate daily activity records and documentation for quality and audit purposes. Implement cost optimization initiatives and support continuous improvement in production efficiency. Ensure compliance with ISO-9001 (QMS), ISO-14001 (EMS), and ISO-22000 (FSMS) requirements. Supervise and develop the hatchery team, ensuring adherence to performance, safety, and discipline standards. Execute additional duties as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

✅ Education: Degree or Diploma in Aquaculture, Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, or related field. Candidates with extensive hands on experience in shrimp maturation and hatchery operations may also be considered. ✅ Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in shrimp hatchery operations. At least 5 years of continuous experience in shrimp maturation and nauplii production. ✅ Technical Knowledge & Skills: In-depth knowledge of hatchery operations and production. Hands-on experience with HACCP and ISO systems. Ability to troubleshoot minor technical problems in nauplii production. Strong skills in reporting, record-keeping, and audit document preparation.
