Job Details
You will be responsible for managing the Aquapôle research support unit, which provides administrative and technical support to two joint research units (UMRs): the UMR Nutrition, Metabolism, Aquaculture (NuMéA) and the UMR Behavioral Ecology and Fish Population Biology (ECOBIOP).
Your mission will be to coordinate all administrative, logistical, and technical activities at the Aquapôle site and to provide operational support to the directors and staff of the two research units.
You will be working in a context where the unit, by delegation from the INRAE Nouvelle-Aquitaine Bordeaux center, carries out specific missions related to the site's geographical remoteness. You will be in direct and regular contact with the unit directors and their staff, the center's support services, and the administrative services of the University of Pau and the Adour Region.
You will also be INRAE's primary contact with local authorities and institutional partners, including the town hall, the Departmental Directorate of Territories and the Sea (DDTM), the Regional Directorate for the Environment, Planning and Housing (DREAL), and the Basque Country Agglomeration Community.
The Aquapôle Research Support Unit (UAR) comprises five staff members whose activities are divided into five areas: human resources management, financial and budgetary management, monitoring and justification of research contracts, asset and real estate management including five experimental facilities (some located off-site), and monitoring of technical contracts (electricity, fire extinguishers, automatic doors, etc.). You will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring the smooth operation of all these activities, as well as supervising the staff assigned to them (conducting interviews, managing leave, and supporting career development).
The Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle Aquapole is located some distance from the INRAE Nouvelle-Aquitaine Bordeaux research center (approximately 200 km) and is situated in a flood zone. You will organize and lead the site's cross-functional operations, including managing on-call flood monitoring. You will be responsible for organizing internal and external visits, quality assurance processes, and initiatives promoting sustainable development. In this capacity, you will participate in coordinating activities involving staff from both research units.
