Job Details

As an aquaculturist, you will be the link between operations and development in aquaculture. You will provide professional advice, lead and participate in cultural projects and ensure that production is both sustainable and efficient. You will work closely with the farming manager for aquaculture, operations managers and other departments in Bakkafrost.

You are responsible for developing and advising on marine farming, including leading projects and ensuring that new farming methods and new farming technologies are used. You will work on data analysis, optimize KPIs and present results to management. You must also ensure that documentation, records and controls meet the requirements of both authorities and internal guidelines. In addition, you will be responsible for documentation of the maintenance of farming equipment and operating systems.

Meaningful tasks include:

  • Professional advice and coordination of projects within the aquaculture sector

  • Data analysis and monitoring of important metrics within production, feed utilization, growth and yield

  • Ensuring documentation and monitoring against internal and external requirements

  • Documentation of maintenance of farming equipment and updating of operating plans

  • Leadership and participation in the project and leadership in collaboration with the offshore manager

Requirements

We imagine that you have a higher education in biology, agriculture, fisheries or similar. You have experience working with data, analytics and IT tools. It is important that you are able to express yourself well in Faroese, Scandinavian languages ​​and English – both in writing and speaking.

As a person you are analytical, responsible and independent in work. You thrive in close cooperation with others, but also in taking independent responsibility and initiative. With your curiosity and innovation, you are able to see opportunities to develop operations and procedures within farming.
