As a Quantitative Geneticist or Analyst, you’ll drive data analysis and innovation for selective breeding programs across the globe. This role offers a unique blend of scientific depth, client collaboration, and impact on real-world sustainability.
You’ll lead genetic and genomic analysis, design and evaluate statistical models, and be a key point of contact for global clients working on cutting-edge breeding programs. This is meaningful work with purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and evaluation of statistical models for genetic analysis, including genomic prediction
- Analyze and interpret genetics and genomics data to support breeding decisions
- Build custom analytic pipelines to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Simulate breeding scenarios and evaluate outcomes using statistical tools
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to design and execute selective breeding programs
- Stay current with scientific literature and emerging methodologies in quantitative genetics and genomics
- Maintain confidentiality around client programs and data
- Communicate results and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
What We Would Like to See on Your Resume:
- MSc or PhD in Statistics, Quantitative Genetics, Statistical Genetics, or a related field
- Experience applying statistical models to quantitative traits in livestock or aquaculture
- Proficiency in R, Python, and/or working in Linux environments
- Familiarity with tools like ASReml, GCTA, PLINK, and relevant R packages
- Experience working with genomic datasets such as SNP or NGS data
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
- Background in aquaculture or aquaculture-related genetic improvement
- Experience applying machine learning or AI approaches in genetics
