Farm Technical Operations Manager

Job Details

JALA is seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Farm Technical Operations Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for developing succession plans, designing and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and evaluating cultivation results to formulate improved strategies for the next cycle. Additionally, your responsibilities include overseeing all cultivation activities on the farm, managing budgets, and ensuring efficient management of pond material requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Succession Planning: Develop a succession plan to ensure the availability of potential workforce in the fisheries sector.
• Operational Development: Work with technicians to develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Cultivation Management: Evaluating cultivation progress and results, and planning cultivation strategies for the next cycle.
• Team Development: Identify high-potential field team members and implement their development plans.
• Livestock Support Program: Conduct research and develop programs to ensure best practices in shrimp farming.
• Team Supervision: Supervise and develop the Pond Development Executive team.
• Cultivation Supervision: Supervise all cultivation activities at all JALA locations.
• Responsible for all pond management, including budget and workforce planning.
• Involved in joint planning of pond management and operational systems.
• Ensure that the pond material requirements for cultivation purposes are managed properly.

Requirements

Skills & Abilities

• Minimum education of Bachelor's degree or higher in the field of Aquaculture, Fisheries, Marine Science, or related fields.
• Have 7–10 years of progressive work experience in aquaculture operations, with a minimum of 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory position.
• Possess strong expertise in shrimp farming operations, farming cycles, and best practices in pond management.
• Proven ability to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for aquaculture.
• Experienced in succession planning and workforce development in the aquaculture sector or related fields.
• Have the ability in budget preparation, workforce planning, and resource allocation for pond operations.
• Possess strong leadership skills with experience in supervising and developing field/technical teams.
• Have excellent analytical skills to evaluate pond performance, identify problems, and develop effective strategies.
• Have good collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams (pond management, operational systems, and other departments).
• Willing to undertake regular business trips to various pond locations.
• Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, problem-solving skills, and resilience in facing challenges in aquaculture operations.
