Job Details

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Farm Assistant located in Bumbuna Town, Sierra Leone. The Farm Assistant will be responsible for performing daily operational tasks, such as feeding and caring for fish, maintaining and cleaning aquaculture areas, monitoring water quality, and assisting with harvesting activities. The role will also involve ensuring the maintenance of equipment, assisting with record-keeping, and supporting the overall productivity of the farm.

Requirements

  • Experience in general farm operations, including feeding, harvesting, and routine maintenance
  • Knowledge of aquaculture, aquatic animal care, and water quality monitoring
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that involve standing, lifting, and working in an outdoor environment
  • Basic record-keeping and organizational skills
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with farm personnel
  • Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and farm operating procedures
  • Experience in fish farming or aquaculture is an advantage
  • High school diploma or vocational training in agriculture, fisheries, or a related field is preferred
