Aquatic Ecology Field Technician

he Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality team is part of the Environment and Sustainability department of AECOM, which has been operating in Spain for over 40 years. We currently have a team of experts in various fields of aquatic ecology, providing consulting services to a wide range of clients in both the private and public sectors.

We are committed to the high technical qualifications of all our staff to provide comprehensive service to our clients. We have our own laboratory, accredited by ENAC in accordance with ISO 17025 criteria, to evaluate the status of all quality indicators in aquatic ecosystems (biological, physicochemical, and hydromorphological).

To expand our team of experts, we would like to add a Junior Field Technician . This role involves working on public and private projects managed by experts.

The main functions will be:

  • Design, planning and execution of field campaigns for sampling and testing of surface and groundwater.

  • Processing of data collected in the field or compiled (preparation of tables and graphs).

  • Support in limnological sampling in rivers, lakes and reservoirs in different projects.

  • Database management .

  • Preparation of field reports .

  • Maintenance of field equipment.

Requirements

Essential requirements:

  • Vocational Training (FP) degree in Forestry Management, Natural Environment, Chemistry, Agriculture or any discipline related to the environment and sustainability.

  • Driving license B and availability to drive to perform field work .

  • Availability to travel from Monday to Friday.

  • Immediate incorporation into the AECOM office in Barcelona.

  • Ensure the necessary functional capacity for the performance of the duties of the position (it will be evaluated at the start of the job through a medical examination).
