Aquaculture Research Specialist

Job Details

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Aquaculture Research Specialist located in Wilmington, NC. The Aquaculture Research Specialist will be responsible for designing and executing research projects, collecting and analyzing aquaculture data, and maintaining aquaculture systems and equipment. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with research teams, engaging in outreach and community education on aquaculture practices, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Philosophy
  • Strong skills in research design, data collection, and data analysis
  • Hands-on experience with aquaculture systems, maintenance, and fish health monitoring
  • Proficiency in report writing, technical documentation, and statistical analysis software
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainable aquaculture practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a research team and engage with community stakeholders
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in aquaculture, marine biology, fisheries science, or a related field
  • Experience in laboratory and field-based research relevant to aquaculture is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in physically demanding environments
