Job Details

This role of the aquaculture trainer at Envirotech Education includes face-to-face delivery in Sydney and some remote work. The Aquaculture Trainer will develop and deliver training programs related to sustainable aquaculture training at high schools. The Trainer will be responsible for delivering and assessing the Certificate II in Aquaculture (SFI20119) program to high school students through Face-to-face and hybrid learning modes. You will have the opportunity to engage students both in-person and virtually, fostering an enriching learning environment that aligns with industry needs and standards. Daily tasks include designing curriculum, conducting training sessions, assessing student progress, and providing guidance on industry best practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions in aquaculture to high school students (face-to-face and virtual).
  • Develop, adapt, and implement session plans and training materials to meet individual student needs and curriculum requirements.
  • Assess student performance in alignment with ASQA standards and training package requirements.
  • Provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and academic support to students.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, assessments, and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with Envirotech's academic and administrative teams to ensure smooth course delivery and development (contextualisation of learning materials).
  • Stay updated on industry trends, training techniques, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist and supervise the aquaculture set-up of the high school.
  • Deliver practical training sessions in collaboration with an industry partner.
  • Engage and Coordinate with Work Placement Service Provider (WPSPs) for mandatory work placement for students. You need to have ongoing communication with WPSPs to discuss work placement requirement.

Requirements

  • Preferably a holder of current TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
  • Working with Children Check Clearance
  • Relevant qualifications in Aquaculture or a related field.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage and inspire students.
  • Proficiency in using virtual learning platforms and digital tools for education.
  • A genuine passion for education, sustainability, and aquaculture.
  • Commitment to adhering to compliance and quality standards in VET delivery.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with diverse student groups, including Indigenous communities.
  • Knowledge of NSW EVET program requirements.
  • Familiarity with environmental education and sustainable practices in aquaculture.
