Lead Aquarist

For Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium, we are seeking: Lead Aquarist. Our aquarium ensures high standards of well-being and care for its marine creatures.You will manage the aquarist team, ensuring compliance with the aquarium's quality standards, and reporting to the site curator. You will be responsible for the following tasks with due attention:

• Manage and organize the site's animal care protocols and programs, in collaboration with the competent veterinarian
• Coordinate the work of aquarists to maintain adequate water quality, to ensure the well-being of the animals and to ensure the proper cleaning of the tanks
• Organize the daily work of the aquarists by giving them specific tasks and deadlines
• Ensure daily recording of all logs
• Collaborate on new Merlin projects in collaboration with colleagues from other Sealife sites

Requirements

Requirements
 

• You have a degree in Marine Biology, Zoology (or equivalent), which has given you an in-depth understanding of the animal world.
• At least 3-5 years of previous experience in a similar role
• You have had experience in facilities where both freshwater and saltwater fish are present
• Experience in species training is preferred.
• Already have the Rescue Diver certification
• You are motivated, precise, and responsible; you are able to adapt to a challenging environment, and you have strong communication, interaction, and teamwork skills.
