Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral fellow to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the isolation and characterization of viral pathogens from fish tissues from local aquaculture farms, with a strong focus on identifying susceptible fish cell lines and conducting downstream studies, including epidemiology and host-pathogen interaction analyses.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute experiments for the isolation and characterization of viral pathogens using fish cell lines
- Perform qPCR and transcriptomics to characterize pathogen diversity and host immune expression profiles
- Analyse innate immunity and conduct disease challenge studies against viral infections in Asian seabass
Requirements:
- PhD Degree in Aquatic Animal Health, Virology, Immunology, or relevant field
- At least one first-author research publication in an international peer-reviewed journal
- Strong research background in aquaculture with extensive experience in virology, cell culture or immunology
- Hands-on experience in qPCR and RNA-seq workflows
