Job Details
The Technical Manager responds to the company CEO and Farm Manager.
The position is described to be based at full time in Burela (Lugo, Spain), and it will demand from the successful candidate, to join an initial small team and contribute to build it over time as the facility and production develop.
The successful candidate will participate directly in the start-up phase of the project, where to balance construction and production phases, and in the facility operational phase, where production protocols, standards and personnel should be implemented and ready for a long-term running.
The Technical Manager has direct personnel and budget responsibilities.
Tasks:
- Pilot phase:
- Contribute to the design and construction phase attending to the operational optimization of the facility.
- Establish, lead and take part in the technical operations.
- Design and implementation of maintenance routines and protocols.
- Leading participation in building technical team structure and foundations.
- Support the establishment of internal control and follow up HSE and quality work.
- Participate in negotiations and entering into supplier’s agreements.
- Operational phase:
- Management and responsibility for the technical department and equipment.
- Design, plan, update and supervision of equipment maintenance programs.
- Contributions to design and definition of projects and investments, in addition to their implementation.
- Design and implementation of technical team training programs.
- HSE internal control, in collaboration with other company members.
- Follow-up of regulatory requirements for technical equipment.
- Keep up to date on technological developments in land-based fish farming and assess opportunities for improvements in technical solutions.
- Follow-up of equipment suppliers and other associated partners.
Requirements
- Experience in RAS production aquaculture facilities is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree, vocational degree or other mechanical or technical relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar position or 5 years of experience in lower responsibility position within the same industry.
- Fluent Spanish is an essential for the position. The company can contemplate the option of a non-fluent Spanish speaking candidate depending on profiles and supporting with the learning.
- English is advantageous, but not essential for the position.
