Aquaculture Scientist (Biologist / Bioengineer) – Sturgeon & Caviar Production

Job Details

We are looking for a driven scientist (biologist or bioengineer)  who wants to help further optimize our sturgeon farming, in collaboration with the rest of the team, with the ultimate goal of producing high-quality caviar.

The position combines scientific research , operational optimization and administrative coordination between our fish farm and production department.

This is a key position within the company, with a direct impact on breeding results, product quality and innovation.

Your responsibilities

Scientific & technical

  • Optimizing breeding and rearing systems for sturgeon
  • Analyzing growth performance, feeding strategies, water quality and health
  • Initiating and monitoring research projects
  • Collaborate with external research centers and laboratories
  • Implementing innovative techniques in aquaculture

Coordination & communication

  • Acting as a link between the fish farm (breeding location) and production (caviar processing)
  • Translating research results into practical applications
  • Monitoring planning, reporting and internal communication
  • Supporting quality control and process optimization

Administrative & strategic

  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Documentation of processes and research results
  • Co-development of a long-term strategy for breeding optimization
  • Support for external audits or collaborations

Requirements

  • Master in Biology , Bioscience Engineering , or similar
  • Affinity with aquaculture (experience with sturgeon is a plus)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Language skills (very important)

  • Fluent Dutch
  • Fluent French
  • Good knowledge of English
