An R&D technician specializing in marine biofouling and related issues

Job Details

You will contribute to the development, within Corrodys, of tests for emerging, more environmentally friendly solutions to combat biofouling in marine environments. As part of a collaborative R&D project, integrated within a multidisciplinary team (biologists, physical chemists, corrosion specialists) of corrosion, biocorrosion, and biofouling technicians, you will be responsible for testing the resistance of materials to biofouling or testing antifouling systems, preparing and conducting tests, and monitoring their progress (preparing media and biological organisms, preparing test specimens, preparing equipment, cleaning, and monitoring equipment). 

Your main responsibilities will be: Setting up and conducting tests to evaluate current or innovative antifouling solutions on materials in our natural seawater test hall: from test preparation (sizing, system design, etc.) to performing analyses (physicochemical, biological, and materials analyses). Developing biofouling production systems under controlled conditions . Participating in the development of test systems. Perform equipment metrology. Adhere to good laboratory practices. Write analysis and test reports. Ensure a high level of quality in terms of scientific results. Participate in the CORRODYS quality system. 

Requirements

Required profile: Specialized technical training in marine biology. Required aquaculture skills. Skills in conducting and managing seawater tests (durability, biofouling) in pilot plants or reactors, and marine biology analyses. Mastery of good laboratory practices. Skills in writing test reports. Autonomous, resourceful, rigorous, methodical, organized, and highly skilled with a strong team spirit. Proficiency in office software. The position requires aquaculture skills. In-house training is available to acquire skills in setting up material resistance tests.
