DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

Merinov is looking for an enthusiastic project leader to develop and complete applied research, innovation and technical assistance projects to support knowledge development and the technology transfer and dissemination of findings mainly in the area of pisciculture. MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct technology transfer and research and development projects related to fish farming, particularly new farming techniques and diets, and genetic improvements.
• Plan the various activities and steps involved in projects, including human resources, the budget, service contracts, memoranda of understanding and details pertaining to confidentiality and intellectual property.
• Offer consulting services to provide businesses with technical support and help them analyze their operations, improve the performance of equipment and procedures they use or are developing, select suppliers, and commission, maintain and assess new equipment.
• Determine what human, material and financial resources are required for pisciculture projects and services, ensure that the follow-ups that are required by the policies and procedures in effect at Merinov are completed, and keep records.
• Structure and prepare estimates, submissions and project proposals.
• Assemble project teams, coordinate the resources involved in the projects under one’s responsibility, and organize, lead and follow up on meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the duties involved in the position.
• Master’s degree on a pertinent topic, or equivalent experience plus scientific publications.
• Two years of experience relevant to the duties involved in the position.
• One year of project management or applied scientific or technological research experience.
• Ability to understand and prepare specialized scientific documentation.
• Physical ability to work at sea, in a humid laboratory environment, in a plant and in a workshop.
• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with statistical data processing techniques.
• Excellent command of French (written and spoken) and command of English (written and spoken).
