As part of its development, SARL Milin Nevez is seeking, for its fish farms in the Somme :
A Genetic Selection and Fish Breeding Manager (M/F) on a permanent contract
• Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, you will oversee selection and breeding activities at both strategic and operational levels to ensure the highest quality of rainbow trout eggs.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- You will participate in the planning and monitoring of the design and implementation of the project at these two sites, in collaboration with the Manager, the Selection Manager and the Cooperative’s Technical Coordinator,
- You will oversee the implementation of these measures in line with the objectives set by senior management,
- You will be responsible for the full management of the fish stock, orders for fertilised eggs, and the day-to-day running of the sites and your team (two permanent fish farming technicians, plus occasional temporary staff),
- You will manage both sites completely independently due to the distance from our head office (Plouigneau - Finistère), and will provide regular reports to the Manager.
As part of your induction, you will undergo an in-house training programme at our sites in Brittany.
Requirements
• Profile
With a background in aquaculture, you have at least 5 years’ solid experience in a similar role.
Dynamic and meticulous, you are capable of managing a breeding centre independently and have a thorough understanding of all processes involved: breeding, fertilisation, the various stages of egg incubation, egg sorting machinery, and the management of water quality required for the production of fertilised eggs, etc.
You are a good listener and responsive, with strong interpersonal, organisational and management skills that enable you to meet set targets.
Versatility and proficiency in IT tools (Excel, specialist software packages) are essential. Knowledge of the Novafish tool and genetic selection software would be an advantage.
• Terms and conditions
Full-time permanent contract, to start as soon as possible.
Location: St-Ouen/Pernois (80610), between Amiens and Abbeville. As part of your duties, you may be required to travel within France and abroad.
Executive status on a fixed-day basis (218 working days per year). On-call duty one weekend in three and one week in three.
Collective agreement for agricultural production and CUMA.
Remuneration based on profile and experience. Gross annual salary range : between €45,000 and €49,000 + bonuses (profit-sharing and value-sharing schemes).
