Job Details

1. Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation

 Identify and evaluate seafood suppliers based on product specifications, pricing, and reliability

 Align supplier capabilities with business requirements (species, volumes, delivery timelines)

 Support new supplier onboarding in coordination with compliance teams

 Maintain supplier database with updated profiles and performance records

 Compare supplier quotations and recommend suitable sourcing options

 Ensure sourcing decisions are cost-effective and operationally feasible

2. Seafood Procurement & Buying Operations

 Review purchase requirements and float inquiries to suppliers

 Collect quotations and prepare comparative statements for decision-making

 Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and basic commercial terms

 Support finalization of purchase orders and contracts

 Ensure timely execution of procurement activities

 Track procurement status and update stakeholders regularly

3. Market Intelligence & Pricing Analysis

 Collect seafood pricing data from global suppliers

 Monitor market trends, species availability, and price fluctuations

 Prepare monthly/weekly pricing and market reports

 Share insights with internal stakeholders for decision-making

 Track supply-demand changes impacting procurement

 Maintain historical pricing data for reference and analysis

4. Supplier Communication & Coordination

 Act as a key point of contact for suppliers during procurement cycles

 Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, dispatch schedules, and updates  Communicate proactively to identify risks or delays

 Maintain regular communication logs and updates

 Support resolution of supplier-related issues

 Ensure timely response and coordination with suppliers

5. Shipment Tracking & Delay Management

 Monitor shipment progress and coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams

 Track container movements and maintain shipment status records

 Identify potential delays and escalate issues proactively

 Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on shipment status

 Coordinate with internal teams for smooth order-to-delivery flow

 Ensure timely follow-up for pending shipments

6. Documentation & Compliance Support

 Collect and manage shipment documents (ISF, BOL, Packing List, etc.)

 Ensure timely updates in internal systems and portals (e.g., SGS, MDB)

 Maintain accuracy and completeness of documentation

 Coordinate with compliance teams for regulatory requirements

 Support handling of FDA holds and related supplier communication

 Ensure proper record-keeping for all procurement and shipment documents

7. Internal Coordination & Process Support

 Conduct or participate in weekly review meetings for sourcing updates

 Coordinate with cross-functional teams (logistics, compliance, finance)

 Maintain procurement and sourcing records for reporting

 Support ad-hoc sourcing and operational projects

 Assist in improving sourcing and onboarding processes

 Share industry updates and relevant seafood news with stakeholders

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Fisheries, Aquaculture, Business Administration, or a related field.
 3–6 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or seafood buying, preferably in export-oriented or global sourcing environments.
 Proven experience in supplier sourcing, quotation analysis, negotiation, and seafood procurement processes.
 Strong understanding of seafood products (species, basic grading, and specifications) and global sourcing practices.
 Working knowledge of import/export documentation such as ISF, Bill of Lading (BOL), Packing List, and compliance requirements.
 Experience in supplier coordination, shipment tracking, and delay management across international suppliers.
 Ability to analyze pricing trends, prepare comparative statements, and generate market intelligence reports.
 Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage global supplier relationships.
 Good coordination skills to work with cross-functional teams (logistics, compliance, finance).
 High attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and data management.
 Proficiency in MS Excel and basic ERP/Procurement systems.
 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong follow-up and execution focus.
