A pioneering startup in the coral aquaculture space is looking for a hands-on International Sales Director to lead its commercial expansion across Europe.

The company develops advanced coral farming and propagation solutions, operating at the intersection of marine science, sustainability, and aquaculture innovation.

We are specifically looking for candidates with strong familiarity and connections within the coral, reef, marine aquarium, aquaculture, or ornamental marine ecosystem industries.

This is a highly entrepreneurial, individual contributor role in which the successful candidate will personally drive market penetration, build strategic relationships, and help establish the company’s commercial presence in Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead market entry and revenue growth across Europe, with future expansion into additional global markets

• Own the full sales cycle — from lead generation and business development through deal closing and account growth

• Build strategic partnerships with coral distributors, wholesalers, aquarium industry players, NGOs, marine institutes, and commercial partners

• Identify and secure lighthouse projects and long-term strategic customers

• Represent the company at international exhibitions, conferences, and customer meetings

• Collaborate closely with R&D, Marine Science, and Product teams to align customer needs with technical capabilities

• Help shape and build the future commercial infrastructure of the company

Requirements

• 5+ years of sales or business development experience

• Proven success opening and developing new markets in Europe

• Strong knowledge of the coral industry, reef ecosystem, marine aquarium trade, aquaculture, or related marine sectors

• Existing industry network and relationships — strong advantage

• Hands-on hunter mentality with the ability to work independently in an early-stage startup environment

• Passion for marine ecosystems, sustainability, and environmental innovation

Candidates from coral distributors, reef and aquarium industry leaders, coral farming operations, marine sustainability companies, and aquaculture organizations are especially relevant.
