Wiley is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Social Media Editor to support the Social Media Activities and visibility of three of its aquaculture-based journals:
- Aquaculture Nutrition
- Aquaculture, Fish and Fisheries
- Aquaculture Research
This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain journal experience, build professional networks within the research community, and contribute to the communication and dissemination of high-quality research.
Responsibilities
- A continuous and regular commitment for an active social media presence of the titles.
- Promote newly published articles and journal content across social media platforms.
- Create engaging content to increase the visibility and impact of journal publications.
- Support the promotion of special issues, calls for papers, editorials, journal news, and other journal initiatives.
- Work closely with the Editors-in-Chief and Wiley publishing team to develop and implement social media activities.
- Identify opportunities to engage with researchers, institutions, industry stakeholders, and the wider aquaculture community.
- Contribute ideas to help grow the journals' online presence and audience engagement.
Requirements
Person Specification
Essential
- A degree in aquaculture, fisheries, aquatic sciences, animal nutrition, biological sciences, communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience using social media for professional, scientific, or organisational communication.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Creativity, initiative, and enthusiasm for science communication.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with editorial teams.
Desirable
- A PhD in aquaculture, fisheries, nutrition, aquatic sciences, or a related field.
- Previous experience in academic publishing, editorial activities, science communication, outreach, or public engagement.
- Experience creating online content (LinkedIn, X Bluesky, Instagram, or other professional social media platforms).
