Job Details

Manage major projects in aquatic biology, ensuring their success from planning to completion.

· Manage all administrative, financial and technical facets of your projects, while maintaining proactive communication with clients.

· Act as a senior expert in the aquatic environment and advise teams on various complex mandates.

· Supervise, train and supervise biologists involved in aquatic environment projects, promoting their professional development.

· Actively contribute to the research and design of innovative restoration and compensation projects in the aquatic environment.

· Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams from Quebec and the rest of Canada, in order to enrich projects thanks to diversified expertise.

· Lead or actively participate in strategic meetings with clients, partners and ministerial authorities, in order to guarantee the success of projects.

· Contribute to business development by developing technical and financial service offerings, and by meeting potential clients.

· Plan and organize inventory programs in aquatic ecology, ensuring their relevance and effectiveness.

· Lead meetings as a specialist in the aquatic environment.

· Supervise, advise and support members of the aquatic ecology team, promoting a collaborative work environment.

· Write sampling protocols, natural environment study reports, environmental impact studies as well as applications for permits or environmental authorizations.

· Analyze and evaluate the impacts of projects on fish and their habitat, by proposing appropriate mitigation, compensation and monitoring measures.

· Ensure control of the scientific and technical quality of all aquatic ecology deliverables.

· Mentor intermediate and junior professionals, sharing your expertise and promoting their progress in the field.

Requirements


· Bachelor's degree in biology or other training deemed equivalent and master's degree in biology /environment or related field ;

· 12 years of relevant experience or more, preferably in the field of environmental consulting ;

· Excellent analytical and synthesis skills, and superior writing skills ;

· Autonomy, initiative and attention to detail, ability to work in a team and in a dynamic environment;

· Experience in writing scientific reports and environmental assessments, as well as in preparing authorization applications ;

· Good knowledge of environmental laws and regulations in Quebec and Canada ;

· Advanced knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) ;

· Mastery of the French language (spoken and written) ;

· Hold a driving license and be eligible for the conditions of a vehicle rental contract.

· Availability to travel occasionally within Quebec territory.
