Job Details

As Senior Advisor on Water Quality, you work in a team with colleagues on water quality projects for water boards, Rijkswaterstaat, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management or municipalities. You will make a visible contribution to policy and management tasks such as the Water Framework Directive and assignments on biodiversity, nutrient issues and chemicals in surface water.

You bring ecological processes to life and translate them into concrete measures for improving ecosystems, water quality and biodiversity. In the projects you work together with different colleagues from different disciplines and fulfill the role of project leader and advisor. Colleagues from the team use R‑scripts to process and visualize biological and water quality data and you provide the results with clear insights and advice. As an advisor you are able to put the method followed on paper and explain the results. Together with your team you process the working method and results into a complete report with clear conclusions and recommendations where the customer can go further. As a project leader, you take care of customer contact and are responsible for budget and planning and arrange contractual and financial administration.

You can also act as an advisor for water quality or aquatic ecology in multidisciplinary projects. Consider biodiversity projects or projects for the protection or improvement of Natura2000 areas with an aquatic component.

Requirements

As a Senior Advisor you have a flexible working attitude, you can respond quickly to ad hoc questions and you have the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time. Keeping agreements and meeting deadlines is second nature and you deliver high quality. You show initiative and responsibility and involve (junior) colleagues in the implementation of your projects where you pay attention to their training and development.

You also have:

  • A completed university education in Biology/ecology, Environmental Chemistry, or other relevant training.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a consultancy firm or as an advisor in another relevant organization.
  • You have a sense of data.
  • Communicatively proficient and masters the Dutch language.
  • Very good written reporting skills
  • Customer contact is easy for you.
  • Team spirit; you are eager to learn, collaborative and easily approach people.
