We are looking for a dedicated Senior Aquatic Scientist to join Trinity Consultants Canada Water & Ecology. Your role will require you to bring a high standard of scientific excellence to your daily work. The following responsibilities will be in your domain:

  • Leading and supporting aquatic environmental studies, predominantly at mine sites located across Canada.
  • Designing and implementing aquatic field programs.
  • Organizing, analyzing, and interpreting water, sediment, benthic invertebrate, and fish/fish habitat data.
  • Preparing interpretive reports based on aquatic environmental study findings.
  • Participating in technical meetings with clients, regulators, and other project partners.
  • Participating in the preparation of proposals for new work.

 

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in environmental science (M.Sc. or Ph.D.).
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience, including assessing the effects of inorganic contaminants on aquatic systems, impact processes, sampling design, and interpretation of aquatic environmental data.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills, with strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills.
  • Experience in aquatic sampling and data analysis, including knowledge of software applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, and statistical packages.
  • Experience in project management and client relationship building.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
  • Registration as a professional biologist in BC and/or Alberta is considered an asset.
