Job Details

This is a dual-function role combining hatchery operations with continual improvement projects, working alongside a skilled local workforce. Your time will be split between managing day-to-day hatchery production, including larval and spat husbandry, algal culture, and water quality control and the design, execution, and analysis of research initiatives aimed at improving biological and operational performance across Larval, Broodstock, and Nursery systems. 

Requirements

  • Background in aquaculture, marine biology, or related discipline with industry experience. 
  • Practical experience with marine invertebrate husbandry (must have bivalve experience) 
  • Proficient in experimental design, data collection, and analysis
  • Can operate effectively across both structured research and variable field conditions
  • Communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Resilient, adaptable, and solution-oriented in dynamic enviroments
  • Willingness to work in remote environments and at sea
  • Willingness to learn a 2nd language
