Online MSc programme – open application to all qualified candidates

Duration- between 1 and 5 years depending upon level of study

Areas of study include the global perspectives of

·       Practices and principles of aquaculture

·       Aquaculture production management

·       Business management in an aquaculture context

·       Health and disease management

·       Feeding and nutrition of aquatic animals

·       Aquaculture-environmental management

·       Genetics and reproduction for aquaculture

·       Innovation including RAS and emerging aquaculture technologies

 

Up to 10 Commonwealth Schoalrships are now available for qualified applicants for September 2025 entry.

Requirements

  • A 2.1 undergraduate Honours degree in a relevant biological science. Entry will also be offered following successful completion of the Undergraduate Certificate in Sustainable Aquaculture in conjunction with additional evidence of relevant professional experiential learning. If you studied your first degree outside the UK, see the international entry requirements.
  • English language proficiency. See English language tests and qualifications.

The qualifications listed are indicative minimum requirements for entry. Some academic Schools will ask applicants to achieve significantly higher marks than the minimum. Obtaining the listed entry requirements will not guarantee you a place, as the University considers all aspects of every application including, where applicable, the writing sample, personal statement, and supporting documents.

If you do not have a degree

We will consider applicants who do not have an undergraduate degree. In these circumstances we expect candidates to have at least five years of relevant professional learning. The Admissions team will holistically assess your application and determine the best route of entry for you. In some cases, this may be onto the PGCert in the first instance where students will have the opportunity to progress and graduate with a full Masters degree.
