Your responsibilities will include:- Actively contribute to the organisation, planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching including unit coordination.
- Demonstrate best practice, innovative teaching methods and support the teaching community of the School and the Discipline in implementing these approaches.
- Undertake world-class research, resulting in research student completions, publications in high impact peer-reviewed journals and successful grant applications.
- Actively engage with the Ecology Discipline and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Apply relevant health and safety standards, including responsibilities for supervisors of undergraduate and research students.
- Promote the Ecology Discipline within and outside the University community by engaging in service and leadership roles, as well as outreach activities.
- In all interactions with staff and students, demonstrate the University values of integrity, respect, courage, excellence and impact.
Requirements
Essential Criteria:- PhD in Marine Ecology, Marine Biology or related discipline and post-doctoral research experience.
- Demonstrated evidence of high-quality unit coordination and teaching in the fields of marine ecology and / or marine biology.
- Demonstrated record of graduate research supervision and ideally conferral of Higher Degree by Research students.
- Demonstrated ability to lead field-based research programs, including graduate and undergraduate field project supervision.
- Demonstrated strong track record of research funding success and high-quality publications, relative to opportunity.
- Evidence of a commitment to collegiality illustrated by collaborative work and excellent communication with colleagues and students.
- Boating: A domestic certificate of competency issued by AMSA i.e. Coxswain Grade 2 near coastal or higher.
- Diving: General Work Diving (Scientific) Qualification, aligned with AS/NZS2815.6:2013.
