Aquaculture Systems Coordinator

Job Details

There is currently one 6 month fixed-term position with the possibility of extension and/or permanency available for immediate filling.

The Aquaculture Systems Coordinator ensures the smooth functioning of DPIRD’s aquaculture production and research facilities through the timely maintenance of facility equipment, procurement of equipment and materials, design and construction of bespoke equipment, training of personnel in equipment usage and other technical functions.

Requirements

We are looking for individuals with:   

• Demonstrated ability to undertake and manage maintenance, undertake procurement, and design and construct bespoke equipment in an aquaculture production and research environment.
• Experience in maintenance and management of complex aquaculture systems, including mechanical, plumbing and electrical. Qualifications in these trades will be looked upon favourably.
• Experience in aquaculture production and understanding of the biological requirements of marine animal husbandry.
• The successful applicant will be required to participate in an on-call roster.
