Tenure-Track Position in Aquaculture and Aquabiotechnology

Sede Boqer Campus, Israel Full Time

Job Details

Aquaculture is the fastest-growing sector of food production. The growing demand for aquaculture produce is driven by the need to feed a growing world population and to compensate for the decline in capture fisheries. Aquaculture in intensive recirculating systems practiced in the Israeli Negev Desert offers a sustainable, environmentally friendly aquaculture solution.

To strengthen sustainable aquaculture research, the French Associates Institute for Agriculture and Biotechnology of Drylands invites applications from candidates with interest in fields related to fish (or other aquatic cultured organisms)-based aquaculture, including (but not limited to) nutrition, physiology, molecular biology, and immunology of aquaculture species, intensive aquaculture production systems. Candidates using zebrafish as a model species are also invited to apply. The scope for research development is wide and diverse.

Successful candidates should have excellent research record and educational competence in the field. They are expected to develop an independent research program, supervise graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, demonstrate scientific leadership, obtain competitive research grants, and contribute to departmental and faculty activities and excellence.

Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate post-doctoral experience and a substantial record of scientific achievement in one of the above-mentioned topics.
