Position Summary

Oceans Design is seeking an experienced individual to work with our inside sales team. The candidate will be responsible for recommending, sizing, and selling aquaculture related products and services to consumers and businesses. The associate will work with cost workbooks to formulate prices associated with projects and create proposals for perspective clients. The ideal candidate will be energetic, positive and possess excellent organizational skills to manage the roles of this multifaceted position, simultaneously. Prior experience in the aquaculture/aquarium field is strongly preferred. The candidate will work with customers daily and must be energetic, friendly, and communicate in an intelligent fashion in order to create client confidence in the sales associate, and the company as a whole.

Description

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Communicate by phone and email with customers to generate new business, develop relationships, take orders and collect information to size equipment.
• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sales record keeping; Furnishing estimates, sales orders, invoices, packing slips, and payment receipts for all sales.
• Create cost estimation worksheets to properly bid projects.
• Search, review and submit bids for equipment and services.
• Present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers
• Prospect and contact potential customers
• Reach agreed upon sales targets by the deadline
• Resolve customer inquiries
• Set follow-up appointments to keep customers aware of latest developments
• Create sales material to present to customers

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience in the aquaculture industry and have a good understanding of how systems are sized from a mass balance perspective. Knowledge of pumping systems, biofilters, solids removal devices, sterilization devices, and other water filtration equipment used in the aquarium and aquaculture industries is preferred.

• Previous experience in sales, customer service, or other related fields
• Familiarity with CRM platforms
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Strong negotiation skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
