Job Details

The Right Fit candidate will:

  • Plan and direct production activities and priorities of the team. 
  • Ensure all cages are inspected four times a month by cage maintenance team. 
  • Ensure cage fixing is planned and fixed on schedule. 
  • Conduct Weekly inspection and checklist of all marker buoys, mooring buoys, and bridle ropes for all sites. 
  •  Ensure all pins and blockers are always in place for every cage, with breakages attended to on the same day. 
  • Fixing of broken cages i.e., handrail broken/bend and stanchions out of alignment on the day of being reported. 
  • Ensure cages and centre buoy are inspected and fixed after harvest. Ensure all the GO an NA centre buoy have 4 ropes each. 
  • Uninstallation and Installation of all NA cages before and after counting. Supervise all works for cage maintenance and fabrication team. 
  •  Ensures teams’ safety; promotes use and ensures provision of the right personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensures mandatory compliance to health and safety guidelines. 
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the Team lead. Ensuring maximum team productivity and efficiency through inspection and fixing. 
  • Report any missing ropes, marker buoys, and mooring buoys. Ensure 100% compliance with safety talks. SOP compliance at 100%, Cage making, Cage fabrication  
  • duction activities and priorities of the team. 

Requirements

The Cage Maintenance Supervisor Must Have:

  • In-depth technical knowledge of aquaculture cage farming and In-depth knowledge of Lake operations procedures 
  • Knowledge of Aquatic Operations and Equipment  
  • Communication, Training & coaching, Analytical & Problem Solving, Interpersonal Skills

Qualifications Requirements are:

  • Grade Twelve (12) Certificate  
  • Diploma in Fisheries Science, Aquaculture, Natural Resource, or another related field, Diploma in metal fabrication added advantage 
  • 1 years + of Progressive supervisory Experience in a similar field. 
  • Experience working on the Lake preferred.  
  • Sufficient hands-on experience in fish cage farming as well as Work experience in HDPE cage fabrication
