Building Social Acceptance through Innovative Communication
Thursday, February 25, 2016  12/30/1899 11:00:00 AM - 12/30/1899 12:30:00 PM  Burgundy
Chair: Linda Heimstra
The aquaculture industry has often used science to defend its position as a socially responsible and environmentally conscious industry.  The science based message has not always resonated with the general public and as a result the fear messaging of some anti-industry groups is widely accepted as the truth about the industry.  This session will explore alternative methods of communicating to gain wider acceptance of the industry and greater understanding of the important role aquaculture has in food production.
