A SURVEY OF THE AQUAPONICS INDUSTRY IN THE UNITED STATES MIDWEST

The aquaponics industry has been growing in the United States Midwest (defined in Figure 1) since the year 2008. As an example, in 2008 there were only four commercial aquaponics operations in Indiana. Today that number is over two dozen.

This paper will present the aquaponics growth trends in the US Midwest and highlight the key regional participants including Growing Power (WI), Farmed Here (IL), All Seasons Aquaponics (IO), Great Lakes Aquaponics (MI), and Greener Portions (OH).

The intention of this paper is to serve as a convenient collocation of the Midwest aquaponics industry for attendees of the 2016 Triennial.
