Aquaculture can be the most resource efficient form of protein production, but we need to continue to improve practices and develop technologies that help us produce more with less.

Aqua Spark is a global investment fund based in the Netherlands dedicated to investing in sustainable aquaculture throughout the value chain. From technologies that produces new alternatives to fishmeal to farming hardware that reduces feed use to software that analyzes farm data to optimize practices, Aqua-Spark is building an ecosystem of companies across the industry that will grow together, benefit from each other and prove that with innovation, knowledge sharing and connecting the dots, good aquaculture is possible at a cost that's competitive with what a farmer spends today, taking away excuses for anyone to not do the right thing. The discussion will include examples of our recent investments and how they relate to resource efficiency and the broader issue of promoting innovation in aquaculture towards natural resource conservation.
