SEGMENTATION BUSINESS TO SUPPORT THE AVAILABILITY OF SEED GROUPER IN INDONESIA

The grouper hatchery technology has been applied to community,  now it can be mass produced from the hatchery such as: tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus), humback  grouper (Cromileptes altivelis), cantang grouper that is a hybrid of  tiger grouper, grouper female and a male giant grouper (Epinephelus lanceolatus) and cantik grouper is a hybrid of a female tiger grouper and a male batik grouper (Epinephelus microdon).

This study aims to look at the model of hatchery and business efforts to support the  availability seeds of grouper become segmentation profitable business at community. Observations were carried out in the district Gerokgak, Buleleng regency, Bali in January-December 2014.  There are three hatchery business model: 1. complete hatchery that have broodstock of grouper  for egg and seeds production, 2. uncompleted hatchery that buy grouper eggs to produce juvenile, and 3. just rearing  the broodstock of grouper  for egg production.

The Segmentatin business to support  grouper fingerlings sustainable: grouper eggs production sold to uncompleted hatchery, larval rearing from eggs until juvenile are about 2,7 cm, nursery from 2,7 cm until size 5 cm up or depend order size, marketing and other support businesses e.i: food of fish, fertilizer, medicine, packing equipment e.t.c. With all kind efforts of these businesses, then the grouper fingerlings can be available continuously and can be marketed in areas of   potential cultivation in Indonesia and abroad.
