One of the main problem of white shrimp production was male reproductive tract degenerative syndrome (MRTDS). It can be seen on male reproduction organs which abnormality and low mating succes caused by melanisation, is a progressive blackening of the spermatophore caused infertile and rejected. This impact a production lost so it need to be concerned. The aim of this study was determined the best sex ratio and nutrition diet fulfilled to reduce spermatophore melanisation on male white shrimp (L. Vannamei)

Male of white shrimp was captive in sex ratio of 100%; 90%; 70% and 50%. In nutrition diet project, it fed with antioxidant addition contain mangosteen extract. The data analized was spermatophore melanization every 10 days until 30 days. The result of sex ratio showed terminal ampoul melanized was fluctuative. The most blackened began from 90%; 50%; 70%; then 100%. The result of nutrition diet also showed terminal ampoul melanized was fluctuative. Shrimp with antioxidant diet seemed has higher terminal ampoule melanization. Antioxidant still ineffective contribution to keep spermatophore well. Spermatophore melanization recovery happened on three shrimps.

Based on this study, we can conclude that as much as female shrimp added to shrimp culture and addition of antioxidant nutrition diets, then it wasn't always reduce the probability to spermatophore melanization on white shrimp L vannamei. The amount of melanization shrimps and percentages melanization was still fluctuative.
