NATURAL SPAWNING FOR  SILVER POMPANO (Trachinotus blochii, LACEPEDE) WITH RECIRCULATION SYSTEM  

In Batam Development Center for Mariculture , silver pompano became a commodity to reach production targets. Although it has succeeded in breeding and producing a mass scale, but there are some obstacles facing the dependence on hormon for spawning silver pompano breeders. Therefore, an alternative solution is to perform naturally spawning, so not dependent on hormones, in addition to the natural spawning of eggs and larvae quality will be better.

This activity is aimed at breeding of breeders naturally so as to produce eggs continuously and without any quality HCG hormone stimulation.

This activity was carried out from May to November 2015 held at the broodstock division at BatamDevelopment Center for Mariculture, P. Setoko-Batam, Riau Islands.

This activity method begins with selecting the  breeders already mature in  KJA facilities of BPBL Batam, after a selected number of breeders  gained as much as 4  females and 13 males. The breeders  then injected with the hormone HCG injection twice a day at a dose of 250 IU to 500 IU first and second day. After holding the egg issued on the second day the breeders is not returned to the KJA, but continues to be maintained at the  spawning tank with a recirculation system.

As for the maintenance  beginning of formalin to give as much as 150 ppm for two days in a row to eliminate congenital parasites of KJA. Furthermore, the breeders maintained by recirculation techniques and fed as much as 2-3% of biomass breeders. Feeding consists of moist pellets and trash fish. To support the vitality of the breeders silver pompano squid and vitamin E given routinely before the two weeks of spawning.for the maintenance the quality of water after each feeding mains water tank disposed of as much as 10-20 percent to flush metabolism. every before the full moon (moon light) then the system water is converted to water flow so that the eggs produced can be out towards reservoirs eggs that have been prepared. With this treatment successfullyfirst in August with 130,000  of egg production.
