Shrimp farming in sea floating cage is an innovative culture technology to solve enviromental problems of coastal shrimp culture due to mangrove forests distruction. However, the high fluctuation of environmental factors in open sea, such as waves and water current, could cause stress for the shrimp and thus decreasing the shrimp immune system. The objective of this research is to evaluate the dietary supplementation of Curcuma longa-Andrographis paniculata extract for controlling Vibrio harveyi infection in white shrimp cultured in sea floating cage. Two treatments were applied during floating cage culture (30 days), i.e. control (fed with diet without curcuma-andrographis supplementation) and curcuma-andrographis diet (containing 4 g of C. longa and 2 g of A. paniculata  per kg feed). Challenge test was performed in the laboratory after the culture period, consisting of four treatments, i.e. negative, positive, prevention, and control group. The immune parameters (phenoloxidase and respiratory burst) survival, specific growth rate, and feed convertion rasio were evaluated after the culture period and challenge test (Table 1).

The combination of both extracts in the diets before and after challenge test, effectively increased the shrimp immunity and resulted in the highest survival, growth performance, and feed utilization.
