Students must have a M.S. degree in a related discipline prior to enrolling in the PhD program in Food and Nutrition Sciences at the University of Maine. Description:

The University of Maine School of Food and Agriculture invites applications from prospective PhD students interested in the quality, safety, and consumer acceptability of processed, farm-raised seaweeds. Research Assistantships will be competitively awarded to several qualified applicants who are enthusiastic about working as part of an interdisciplinary academic team (food microbiology, chemical engineering, food chemistry, food processing, sensory evaluation) and with industry stakeholders. Appointments will begin in Summer and/or Fall of 2018, and will be supported by the NOAA-funded project titled “Sustainable post-harvest processing and value-addition of aquacultured seaweed.”
