• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in aquaculture production environments, with preference for shrimp production. • College diploma or undergraduate degree (or higher) in aquatic biology, aquaculture/fisheries science, veterinary sciences or related field. • Fluency in English, oral and written. • Familiarity and proficiency with recirculating aquaculture systems. • Proficiency with basic mechanical systems. • Aptitude for hands on work with live animals and their by-products. • Strong interpersonal, communication, and people management skills • Critical thinking skills and self-motivated • Ability to work odd hours beyond a 40-hour work week as required • Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft office • Eligibility to work in Canada and willingness to relocate to Calgary or surrounding area. • Valid Alberta Driver’s license or ability to obtain


Rocky Mountain Shrimp Farm Inc. is developing a pacific white shrimp production facility just outside of Calgary, Alberta. We are seeking a farm manager to lead the commissioning and operations of the facility, as well as support our expansion. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will undertake the management and oversight of all shrimp farming activities, including: • Planning all aspects of production including staffing. • Managing for post larvae purchase, shipping and receiving. • Leading stocking, transfers, harvests and deliveries. • Oversight of proactive animal husbandry and animal health practices. • Nutrition planning and maintenance of feed systems. • Maintaining the production unit and facility • Contributing to system upgrades and design improvements. • Managing record keeping and data management. • Communicating with project partners on all aspects of operations. Other responsibilities will include: • Managing and training a team of technicians at the project site. • Achieving and reporting on weekly / monthly objectives for production. • Identification of opportunities for increased production/facility efficiency • Enforcement of safety guidelines and company standards and policies • Appropriate response to various monitoring system alarm signals.
