An earned doctorate with a dissertation in fish nutrition is required.


Develop a nationally recognized research program focusing on fish nutrition that contributes to the research mission of the Aquaculture Research Institute. The successful candidate is expected to be a leader in research activities, contributing significantly to overall UI research efforts. 100% Research - Conduct an externally funded program of research consistent with the mission and strategic plan of the Aquaculture Research Institute; develop a nationally recognized research program focused on current and emerging critical issues in fish nutrition such as alternative feed ingredients to fish meal, alternatives to fish oil, and additional dietary supplements; collaborate with faculty at UI and other universities, as well as work in transdisciplinary teams with state, federal, private research, and extension personnel; develop and submit grant proposals to fund further research; present research findings at international, national, regional, and state meetings; publish results in peer-reviewed journals; and train undergraduate/graduate research assistants and other personnel as appropriate. The successful candidate must develop sufficient external funding to support salary and research efforts.
