Montpellier and the Le Corum International Congress Center

Montpellier and the Le Corum International Congress Center

Montpellier is a very conference-friendly city and provides very easy access from many hotels in all price ranges and excellent post-conference networking. AQUA 2018 will be held in the Le Corum Conference Center, which is in the centre of Montpellier and just a 10-min walk from the TGV station and the famous Place de la Comédie.

Montpellier is the ideal place to stay and take advantage of the many treasures of the Occitanie Region. Nestled between sea, vineyards and mountains and considered to be one of the top five French cities in organizing congresses and international exhibitions, Montpellier is the very definition of the Mediterranean city. With its rich historical heritage and idyllic location just a few kilometers from the coast, it is a key international city for business tourism.

Montpellier has a rich 1,000-year of history. People who cherish old stone buildings and streets and a historical ambiance will love strolling through downtown Montpellier’s medieval streets, surrounded by historical monuments and antique shops. Discover venues such as the Arc de Triomphe, 80 private mansions, the Faculty of Medicine — the oldest operating medical school in the occidental world — and the Fabre museum — an astounding work of art and an innovative combination of classic and contemporary architecture.

Montpellier is the world capital of agronomics: 2,800 researchers, 15 international research organizations and 80 joint research laboratories. Agropolis International unites a highly structured network that covers this special scientific community.

Montpellier is easily reachable by plane via its international airport Montpellier Méditerranée, but also by high-speed train (TGV). The airport has direct flights to numerous destinations in Europe (Brussels, Copenhagen, Munich, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds). It is easily reachable from Paris by plane, with four daily flights from Charles-de-Gaulle airport and eight daily flights from Paris Orly airport. By train, there are four daily direct trains from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport (4 h) and 12 daily direct trains from Paris city center (3 h 15 min). It is also possible to fly to Barcelona El Prat, served by 82 airlines, and then take a direct train (6 per day, with 2 h 50 min duration) to Montpellier.
