AquaTools: Smart Siting and Environmental Management Tools for a Growing Aquaculture Industry Good spatial planning, site selection, and farm design are critical to minimizing environmental impacts and ensuring business success. Environmental monitoring is often required to ensure environmental compliance, but similar approaches can also be used by farmers to improve production yield. Farmers, scientists, and policymakers will present on new innovations in this field. The session will provide a cross-sectional perspective on the intersection of environmental management and smart business management. Offshore Aquaculture New and improved technologies, dynamic forces and deformation of offshore cage systems, modeling of offshore systems, corrosion, net systems, fish escape, antifouling, copper alloys, production methods of commercial finfish, shellfish and algae, broodstock, predation, monitoring, regulations, permitting, coastal and marine spatial planning (CMSP), management protocols, climate, energy and economic factors, among other pertinent subjects will be addressed during this session.
