World Aquaculture 19 ert (Bob) Stickney. However, after the publication of this issue Bob will transfer the responsibility to John Hargreaves. Although I have delighted myself all these years with Bob´s editorials and articles published in WAM, my personal contact with him was almost nil. However, during the last six months I’ve had the chance to be a little closer to him and I have to say that it has been a privilege for me. Bob made an extraordinary editor-in-chief of WAM and on behalf of WAS, I would like to acknowledge him for everything he has done for our Society. At this opportunity I also want to welcome John, who I had the opportunity to met during the time we served together on the WAS Board. John has a long history of serving WAS and also has years of experience in publishing. On behalf of WAS, I would like to wish him good luck in his new position and say we´re very confident that he will do a great job. WAS Books and Other Publications Another publishing program offered to our members is the WAS edited book series. These high quality publications, written by world-renowned aquaculture experts, are sold through our web page with incredible discounts. Other kinds of media such as CDs, DVDs, Non-WAS books, Spanish language books and technical contributions for special sessions of WAS and other important aquaculture meetings can also be found on our web page. The Publishing Committee The Publishing Committee is responsible for WAS publications and under the Strategic Plan that was recently implemented, the Committee is taking the necessary actions to improve the excellence of our publishing program policies and keeping the finances of our publications in good standing. The WAS Publishing Committee is chaired by Jimmy Avery. This Committee is supported by the Magazine sub-committee, chaired by Jimmy Avery, by the Journal sub-committee, chaired by Carl Webster, by the Book sub-committee, chaired by Craig Browdy and by the ad hoc Electronic Committee, chaired by David Little. Finally, I would like to wish to our members and indeed all of the Board Members, our Home-Office and Executive Director, Affiliated Societies and sponsors, happy end of year holidays. I would like to acknowledge Dr. James Avault, our Home Office Staff and Amy Broussard who have sent me some of the data and photos used in this column — Ricardo C. Martino-DSc. President of WAS
